Kohlrabi (German Turnip) (Brassica oleracea)

  • Kohlrabi is a brassica and has cabbage like leaves. It is known for its distinctive swollen stem that looks a bit like a turnip.

  • Both the leaves and the stem can be eaten, but it is normally the stems that are available on the market.

  • It has a fairly mild cabbage taste with a watery texture reminiscent of celery.
