Pau d'Arco (lapacho, taheebo)
-
Pau D'Arco
is a South American rainforest tree, known locally as the trumpet tree.
-
Other
names are for this tree lapacho and taheebo.
-
The wood
from this tree is dense and resilient to the ravages of the rainforest.
-
The dense
wood makes fine grained furniture. It is so hard that it is very
difficult to work with.
-
It is the
dried bark from this tree that is used to make herbal tees. These tees
are to fight off infection and boost the immune system. (Please read the
website disclaimer!)

"Whatever
its active ingredients, pau d’arco poses a death threat to a type of
fungus called Candida albicans. Candida is always present to a small
degree in our bodies, but it can reproduce uncontrollably under some
circumstances."
