Spearmint (Mentha spicata)
-
Spearmint
is easy to grow and can be identified by its pointed leaves. Other mints
with pointed leaves, like Moroccan mint do not have the pungency of
spearmint.
-
This is
the mint that you are most likely to find in a store.
-
I prefer
spearmint for salad dressings where a sharper taste of mint is required.
-
For salad
dressings, wash well and just use the leaves and discard any woody
stems.
-
For more
subtle dressings and for juicing my preference is apple mint.
