tukmaria seeds (ocimum pilosum)

  • Tukmaria seeds have many other names for example Takmaria. See the database entry in the link below.

  • Tukmaria are the seeds of ocimum pilosum which is an aniseed-scented basil.

  • They are used in Indian cooking, especially cooling drinks.

  • As with most seeds, it's best to soak them first in water. Just put 1 or 2 T in a glass of water and soak them overnight in the fridge.
