If you are
making some special recipe that calls for something like "refined sugar
with a few added cranberries", then you might find the following guide
useful, or you could end up wasting a lot of time looking along the
refined sugar shelves. It won't save you money however, as refined sugar
is considerably cheaper when you buy it as such.
Beet
leaves These are great in salads or for juicing. Conveniently, you can buy
these leaves already cut off from the root. If you want to buy the root
as well, then you have the ultimate supermarket offer of "buy one, pay
twice" otherwise known as BOPT!
Dried
cranberries Actual product: Sugar with added cranberries.
Health food store: product was 55% sugar
Supermarket: product contained 33% cranberries, the rest being sugar and
pineapple extract.
Fruit
sticker labels starting with "8" These indicate that the fruit is genetically modified.

Seedless grapes Deformed plant material. Fruit, by definition, is the seed bearing
part of a plant. Real grapes have seeds in them and have
done so for thousands of years. If you are what you eat, would you like
to be barren, insipid, and unable to survive naturally? Or would you
like to be tasty, full of life, and able to continue for generations?
